My Artwork.
Pastels
I have always used some pastels in my drawings, but now I am doing only pastels. They are 22' X 30" on Fabriano Paper. I am enjoying the soft look of pastels. The challenge of form and color are always a wonderful adventure. The forms come from insects, trees , and shadows of nature. I study the intensity of colors next to each other. How they relate to one another. The forms and colors are pulled in different directions throughout my drawings.

In the Silver Forest (Im Silberwald)
While in Stuttgart, Germany in 1982-3, I was invited to do an On Site Specific show at the America House in Stuttgart. This show traveled to five America Houses in five different cities. . There were 40 different pastel drawings on Fabriano paper. I took photos of three different trees which stood next to each other. I started at the bottom of them and worked up to the top taking photos along the way of each section. It became somewhat of a gestural drawing of the trunks and then grouping of leaves. I've been told that the grouping of leaves can resemble animals.

In Dreams One Often Finds Solutions
These prints were made for a video opera, "Journey to Orgonon." Wilhelm Reich, a student of Freud, developed the Orgonon idea of life energy that is a component of every organic matter.
Yehuda Yannay and Jerome Fortier created the video and asked me to make these images for them. I have combined the telescopic views of the cosmos with microscopic images of matter. These are a Limited Edition because the original plates, which were made of paper, have disintegrated with age.
The plates were scanned by a professional printer onto the art paper which is non-acidic arches paper.
Price: $100 in archival matting or $250 framed
